Maker’s Monday…

June_sweater

Nearing the end of this wee sweater as I continue on the big brown blob. Two little sleeves and some pretty little buttons are all that is left. πŸ’•.
It's been a very busy couple of weeks, some of which has allowed me some good car knitting time, which is always a little blessing tucked in between a sometimes crazy schedule.

Yesterday we traveled down to my home town to say a special good-bye to a dear family member.  A celebration of his life..and a life well lived but cut too short from a tick borne disease called Powassan.  Take time to read the article because it could save a life.

It was bittersweet seeing so many friends and family that I haven't seen some for almost 30 years.  It reminded me of all the good years I had with them when my older children were small…..and many good times we had indeed!

Take time today to give a friend a hug or say I love you to a loved one, because sometimes life passes by us too quickly…

  1. I’m so very sorry for your loss, Kim. Life is indeed fragile, trying to be present and enjoy all the little things before they’re gone forever. Love you.

  2. I am so very sorry for your loss, Kim. Powassan is an awful tick borne illness. So many doctors are ignorant of it and its rapid transmission and often a patient is not even tested for it and treatment delayed. Sending love and hugs to you and your family. β€οΈπŸ€—β€οΈπŸ€—

  3. Condolences on the loss of your loved one.
And thank you for the article about the tick disease. We will be moving to a wooded mountain in the spring and I know there will be ticks around. We won’t be in the Northeast but this is a good reminder to avoid all ticks.

  4. I’m so sorry, Kim. People (no names here) look at me like I’m crazy when I discuss not Lyme, but babesiosis, erlichosis, powassan, and lone star tick anaphylaxis (life long life-threatening allergy to red meat after a bite).
Powassan is, indeed in Massachusetts. TNx for your PSA, also.
