It's been a while since I have worked on this sweater. I'm thinking it's been close to a year, so when I picked it up today wanting to finish up the lingering projects I have sitting around, I found that it is just too big for me. It's a combination of having lost 10 pounds over the last 2 months and always picking a size that is probably too big for me . I tend to make sweaters either too big or sometimes too small..arrgh!
I am going to finish this one because it is so close to being done, but I will pull out the sleeve I had been working on and work the decreases sooner than recommended in the pattern… at least the sleeve length will fit. It will be nice to work with a vibrant color after having spent the last few months working on shades of gray, so there is that, right?
Normally I am not one to push through something that I know is not going to be what I had hoped. This sweater for me is kind of like pushing through that book that I find boring. I have learned to give myself permission to let go of those books without finishing them, and going forward I will listen to my instincts with my knitting…but I am THIS close, so I will finish it..ha!
Too big is better than too small, at least! You can wear it as a slouchy boyfriend sweater, right? The color is gorgeous.

It’s a lovely color! But . . . if you can’t wear it, why knit it? (I also have no problem putting aside a book I don’t like!) XO

If it’s a sweater you or someone else will wear then go for it, but if it’s not, I would have the satisfaction of frogging it and starting anew. (I do that all the time!) xoxo
