Soooo….here I go. I wasn't go to do this again after doing it last year, but as I was walking on Friday I thought it might be a good brain stretch for me. I've had a rough few months and have been pretty quiet here on the blog, but I have missed chatting with you all and this will force me to do just that. 🙂
I have also decided to add another little challenge to start off November. I am going to stay away from Facebook until next Sunday, which I think will help me with the NaBloPoMo challenge of posting every.single.day in November. My blog posts will show up on Facebook, but I won't be reading there to respond to any comments.
I used to spend my mornings with a cup of coffee catching up on my friend's lives by reading their blogs, but in this fast paced world, most of my blog reading has been replaced by skimming through Facebook a few times a day. It will be nice to spend time reading blogs again with my morning coffee.

That was a lot of thinking on my Friday morning walk, wasn't it? I almost always enjoy my morning walks, especially if it is a sunny day. As many of you know, my husband, Ken, has also been walking most every day and has now lost 25 pounds. I asked him yesterday what he thinks about when he walks and his answer shows how very different we are. He told me that he doesn't think about anything, that he tries to keep his mind empty and just observe his environment. (he walks at dark o'clock am). I was incredulous! Seriously, I said? I told him that when I walk I spend most of my time thinking about my day, about what might be troubling me, what might be making me happy…solving life's problems…ha! I do also enjoy observing my environment as well too though and as I walked on Friday, it was a beautiful and crazy windy day.
We were blessed with an amazing Autumn up here in the mountains and while I am sad to see the leaves depart, I thoroughly enjoyed watching the leaves dance across the driveways and streets as I walked along my journey home.
I look forward to talking to you on this NaBloPoMo journey too!
I think men’s mind are definitely wired differently than ours! I think when I walk as well. Will miss your Facebook posts this week, but looking forward to your daily blog posts 🙂

Facebook is the way I check in with friends as most of the people I care about post there. It will be fun to watch NaBloPoMo for you, just like the old days! I also like to walk at o’dark thirty, but if it’s too cold I just won’t go. I think to much and would like to be more like Ken.

I think a lot in the shower, too! That’s probably where I do my best work. 😉

I usually listen to music or podcasts when I walk so I think about that stuff. But if I’m not walking with music, etc I try and just think about what I’m seeing and how I’m feeling. I guess I’m more like Ken. No surprise there, right? Glad you’re along for the NaBloPoMo ride!

Your idea about Facebook is something to think about. I love it but it can sure suck up a lot of time. Vive la difference-/no wonder guys and gals don’t always understand each other!

I want to try to get back to walking. Have lots of knee pain, and some low back pain. Long term it would must likely help, but short term makes it more difficult! When I used to walk years back, I initially would be thinking, kinda of crazy, and then gradually my mind would slow, and the walk would become meditative.

I’m with you on this. And yes, I think we are wired differently by our hormones. It just is.

I’m always thinking — and usually about hundreds of things — all at once. Tom, on the other hand, thinks of One.Thing.At.A.Time. Don’t know about you, but I’d rather have a busy brain. . .

There is certainly alot to be said for empty-mind as a practice. I try to do it as much as I can, but its very hard.
