The wind is tossing the lilacs,
The new leaves laugh in the sun,
And the petals fall on the orchard wall,
But for me the spring is done.
Beneath the apple blossoms
I go a wintry way,
For love that smiled in April
Is false to me in May.

This week's sparkle are the beautiful lilacs filling the air that surrounds me as I walk each morning.
They only stay around for such a short while, but it is a smell that I always embrace each Spring.

Have a wonderful Holiday Weekend!
So beautiful. We had lilacs growing up and they had the most delicious sweet scent. Thank you for the memory. 🙂

Ours are in full bloom and, while I love to look at them, their scent gives me a headache so I keep them at a distance.

Lilacs are so special and so ephemeral. I grew up in Lincoln, NE aka The Lilac City and they have always been my favorite!

Our lilacs bloomed in March, but they remind me of how lovely May usually is. Thank you for sharing your beautiful blooms.

I love lilacs and their scent. They bring fond memories of my childhood in Greece. My mother used to wrap sprigs of them on the handle of our Easter baskets before hiding them in the garden for us to find.
