Ten On Tuesday….

Sunflowers_1
So now that I have eased my way back into blogging, I am going to try to keep up with it.  Carole's Ten on Tuesday question is Ten Things You Love About September.  This one is easy peasy for me as September is my favorite month of the year.

1.  My birthday πŸ™‚
2.  Warm days and cool nights with much less humidity. (Still a summer feel, but you can definitely feel and smell fall in the air)
3.  Weekend drives with Ken (next weekend will be a beach weekend)
4.  Tourists go home (I live in a tourist community)
5.  School and schedules.  I love the freedom of summer, but I welcome the structure fall brings.
6.  The colors of autumn start showing up at the end of the month.
7.  Football (thank GOD because baseball this year has been dismal!)
8.  Crisp fall apples and soup
9.  Whale Watching (although we did this in August this year so that the kids could join along with us.)
10.  Fryeburg Fair

There you have it….my second favorite month is October….what is your favorite month?

  1. May is my favorite month- Mother’s day, my birthday, spring flowers, 2 fiber festivals….. the promise of wonderful things to come in the veggie garden.

  2. Happy B-day this month! And nice list. October is my favorite. Living farther south than you (DC/MD), heat and humidity often hangs around into September. And I really dislike DC summers (grew up in UK). Plus, first child was born in Oct. and it is my wedding anniversary month.

  3. September is a great month! It’s one of the best for all the reasons you listed. Our garden is bursting with goodness, good veggies we can’t eat fast enough. The weather changed and we finally have the cooler nights, too. I can’t help but dread the winter, however.

  5. Do you get “The New Yorker?” A cartoon in today’s issue: two busy lanes on an overhead highway, with those green highway signs above. One lane has the cars moving along, and the sign says THE REST OF HUMANITY. The other lane has the whole line of cars driving off the edge and falling – the overhead sign says RED SOX FANS…………
