Last time I visited with you, I had just finished Vitamin D and needed some quick knits to feel as though I am still a real knitter. First on the list was this absolutely charming knit…"Regina".  It knit up quickly and was fun!

I am a HUGE fan of the Roaring 20's and this hat fit the bill perfectly.  The pattern is well written and moves right along.  The techniques used were ones that were a bit new to me, which kept it interesting.  Hannah was feeling agreeable and did a great job modeling this new hat, don't you think?

Mitten
With Regina completed I have moved right along to a pair of Spruce Tree Mittens to match Regina.  Sadly last year I lost my most favorite pair of Red mittens.  While these are not really red, they are soft and warm…and oh so pretty!  Now I wonder if it will ever get cold enough up here to wear them….such a strange start to winter in New England this year…..

  1. I bet you could wear them today! There were snowflakes coming down when I went out to get the paper this morning. It’s stopped now but it’s pretty chilly!! They’re very pretty!

  2. I like your version in one color. (And Hannah does rock it.) Congrats on getting good surgery timing. Keep us in the loop, we want to cheer you on.

  3. So pretty!! And although I agree about the weather, I’ll bet you’ll be wearing those mittens soon enough 😉
I hope the weather stays “strange” for a few days more, though. I need to clean the chimney but I’ve been sick for nearly a week…no climbing onto the roof until my head stops feeling like a leaden globe.
    Maybe tomorrow!

  4. Hannah looks adorable in your Regina!! Such a great color. Matching mitts will be perfect. The cold snap is here already so you’ll get good use out of them when they’re done.

  5. Dear Kim…Good luck with your surgery on Thursday…I had back surgery just 2 years ago and had an excellent result, and hopefully, you will as well…Rest and recuperate, and let those who love you best take care of everything else…God Bless……

  6. The hat is so different and so cute. Love the Roaring 20’s–my favorite novel is Great Gatsby. I could see daisy in this hat (of course, she wouldn’t hold a candle to your lovely daughter). Jo
