The ground hog is a wise little animal to sit and
just absorb time. My time to sit and absorb will be a few
weeks away but I am looking forward to it.
This month is always a busy time for me, but a business that I enjoy
so I don't complain. I will be honest with you though, I was doing
some serious complaining a few days ago about knitting cables.
Anne is such a dear friend who always comes up with a beautiful
pattern for me to bring to SPA. I will admit though when I saw the new French Quarter
pattern that was sporting a lot of cables my heart dropped a bit. Not
because I do not love cables because I do, but I am THE world's slowest
cable knitter….so as I was whining a bit to Terry about feeling a bit
homicidal using size 0 needles and slick yarn, she sent me this
video….
OMG…………I could have dropped on the ground and hero worshiped her…let me tell you. I went from feeling like poking my eyes out with my teeny double points to actually staying up late last night because I didn't want to put my knitting down. Grrls….if you are still using a cable needle…put it down and go check out the video. It is SO worth it!
Moving on…..
Yes, little Miss Ellie is starting to give her Mum a break now and then. This week brings the introduction to food. We start out slowly with a milk mixture and then slowly add a little bit of baby cereal to it. Tomorrow she will get a mix of milk soaked puppy food, which will be easy peasy for her as this little girl is definitely her mother's daughter….she likes her chow for sure!
All that work tires out a little puppy girl….it's so nice to curl up next to a friend…even if it is only a stuffed puppy. 🙂

I do love that new sock pattern, it really is pretty and I will check out that video, I have never had success with the no cable needle thing…but I am game to give it another go…I will confess that I have actually used paper clips when doing cables on socks in the past…

OMG that has to be the cutest puppy pic ever…and that sock is pretty nice too. Actually it does remind me of the wrought iron fences in New Orleans. I check out the video later…thanks for sharing it. hugs 🙂

Terry knows everything there is to know about how to do whatever there is to do with something crafty. She is a goddess. Love the sock and I, like you, can’t wait to sit in the warmth of the spring sun. Miss Ellie’s features are filling in and you can see she’s a sweet pup.

That pattern is lovely! As is the yarn you’re making it with. And OH-M-G, I’ve seen the cable w/out cable needles explained before but THIS video is FABULOUS, I especially like her “aahhhh, here’s the scary part”. Miss Ellie looks so cuddly herself! I’ve picked up the maplewing again! It wasn’t left in a scary place! Probably won’t be done for SPA, but should be done pretty soon… just moving on to the C section today.

When I learned to cable, I did it without a cable needle. Years later, at the suggestion of a well-meaning knitter, I tried using one. What a PITA!
