All auspicious signs are in place.
In the beginning, all things are hopeful. We prepare ourselves to start anew. Though we may be intent on the magnificent journey ahead, all things are contained in this first moment: our optimism, our faith, our resolution, our innocence.
Deng Ming~Dao
On this first day of the new year I have spent some time reflecting over the past year and looked ahead not only to the new year but a new decade.
I no longer make resolutions as there is only disappointment when they are broken…and they usually are. This year I am going to focus on just one thing……discipline. As much as I hate to admit it, I am a very undisciplined person…..a fly by the seat of my pants and never wait for anything kind of grrl.
This is not necessarily a bad thing, but many things go left undone. So for this new decade a little discipline is my goal for 2010. With a little bit of discipline a lot of the other things will fall into place.
For you my friends I wish for you a year filled with peace, joy, happiness and fulfillment.
Happy 2010!!

well said! Happy New Year to you, too!

Happy New Year! You have a very worthy goal and something that is easily defined by you alone. Keep the happiness in that discipline and you’ll have a stellar year!

Kim! Your mind and mine are so much in the same place. I’ve been trying to come up with an approach that will have me focusing my time more efficiently and having the focus and discipline to finish things, avoid just adding more to my plate (which is when I get so overwhelmed and end up doing nothing), and schedule time each week or month for all of the things I want to accomplish. Funny, I always think you are so disciplined, you get a lot more done than I do! Let’s keep in touch, we can hold each other accountable, be discipline buddies.

Happy New Year Kim! I’m not very disciplined either and get paralyzed when overwhelmed. My goal is to live life to the fullest and not let fear get in the way of doing things.

Happy New Year Kim and great good luck with the discipline. Let me know how that works – will you? Maybe I could incorporate it into my TIME MANAGEMENT program!!!! It’s hopeless – I’ve decided that there just aren’t enough hours in the day so I’m going to forego sleep!

Your Northern Hemisphere New Year looks a World away from what’s happening Down Under! It’s warm….no hot! The mugginess and humidity are just the icing on the cake! Mind you, I’m in no hurry for the cold to return, even though I know it will….
I hope your year is wonderful!

Discipline? Meh. I guess it’s okay so long as you don’t lose your spontaneity and love of FUN.

I totally agree — if I work on that, a couple of time-management issues will take care of themselves.
