Too Much Fun!

Rock of ages
Ok folks……..you have GOT to see this play if you get the chance!

Last weekend Ken and I traveled to New York to visit Dan and Jean. It was our 15th wedding anniversary and given that I had never been to NYC we decided that going to a play on Broadway would be a fun experience.  Was it ever!

Getting off the train in Grand Central Station was mind boggling and then leaving the station and heading towards Times Square.  The only thing I can say is "Holy Crap!"  Seeing all of the jumbo-trons and the sheer volume of people was mind boggling, overwhelming and fun all wrapped up in one.  I LOVED it!

Thankfully Jean knew her way around the theater district pretty well and found a neat pizza place for dinner.  After dinner, Jean wanted to show us Rockerfeller Center, but couldn't seem to find it….so we asked one of the city policemen if he could point us in the right direction.  Ummmm……….4 blocks later, we were right back where we started.  Hmmmm….so this time Dan asks a city policeman while Jean and I watched.  First the officer points south, then west…..then Dan tells him that he is also an officer.

Oh…why in that case……. it is just one block north.  Can you believe it?  I think that they like to mess with us tourists…haha!

After taking in the sights it was back to Broadway and the play. Let me tell you, this play was HILARIOUS! If you were a child of the 80's and enjoyed those big hair rock songs, you will LOVE this play!!

  1. As a former Manhattan resident who dated a cop there…yeah…pretty much everybody likes to mess with tourists (especially the cops in times square). That being said – I always gave correct directions if I knew where it was (I didn’t always).
But I’m glad you had fun! I kind of miss NYC and more importantly being excited by coming out in Grand Central – I got so used to it since I basically commuted out of the Amtrak station that it was just like eh. another train ride.

  2. lol. It was a blast and I’m glad you were there to enjoy it with!! I’m chuckling as I remember watching that cop point Dan in all different directions and you and I watching and saying, “He’s so leading Dan on….” lol

  4. It sounds like lots of fun!! How funny that he was messing with you guys. I live in a touristy area and I’ll admit to messing with a couple of ‘upfers’ myself over the years. ;o)) (they were from Manhattan if that makes you feel any better! lol!)
