It Takes Two…Baby!

Takes_two_yarn

I spent the weekend both working in the yard and working on some loose ends.  One of the goals that I set for myself this weekend was to finish up this roving, that Marisol gifted to me earlier this spring.  It’s the "Takes Two" colorway, spun in a fine sockweight.   My 15 year old keeps begging for some mittens made with this yarn, but I go back and forth between mittens or some ankle socks for her.  Maybe there will be enough to do both 🙂

I am really resisting the temptation to start something new.  I have a number of projects that I have started over the year, that I would really love to finish.   I don’t know why I have such a hard time staying faithful to one project.  The lure of something new is always tempting me…..so many lovely yarns, so little time…..

So…..in addition to spinning the CMF roving this weekend, I also worked on the Wool Peddler shawl from Interweave Knits Folk Shawls.  I should finish up with this tonight and have it blocking tomorrow (I hope  anyways….).  This will be a nice shawl for the fall festivals.  I’m thinking that I would really like a sweater in the gold colors that are in this yarn.  Maybe something in Silky wool…..mmmm…..

  1. I can see why your 15 year old is chomping at the bit for you to make her some mittens with that colorway. My soon to be 14 year old would be in close running for a pair, too! I hope you had a great weekend!

  2. I’ve been tempted by that Wool Peddler’s pattern many times. I can’t wait to see yours! And – get this – the ONLY thing I have on the needles right now is ONE LONELY sock.

  3. That yarn looks pretty.
Your shawl looks like it’s keeping Mr.Frog nice and toasty! grin
I can not keep myself on one project to save my life. There’s too much to do and too little time to do it in.

  4. The spun yarn is amazing! And I love the peddler’s shawl too! Those nature colors are so serene.
I just love your photos…I always feel so happy after I visit your page! 🙂

  5. Pretty yarn. And, I love the color of the shawl too. It’s so tempting to start new projects before the old ones are finished. I don’t set limits, but I’ve learned I can’t manage more than three at a time.
