MalabrigioWow…how does a week go by so quickly??

The weather today here is surprisingly bitter cold, so in lieu of my Wednesday Walk, I thought I would try and catch up with all of you in blogland.  It’s amazing…a few days away from the computer and my blogline list has exploded with new entries!

I betcha thought I had forgotten about my little blog decorating contest, but I didn’t :-).  On Friday morning, I had my daughter, Hannah draw a name and blogless Debbie B is the winner of this very soft Malabrigio yarn.  I got carried away buying Malabrigio last year and in the spirit of cleaning out the clutter, I thought someone else might enjoy knitting with this yarn too.

What a busy weekend!

Whew…..this weekend was non-stop busy, but in a good way.  Saturday had Ken, Hannah, 2 of the dogs and I heading down to Fitchburg Mass for a dog show.  This was to be Cleo and Maggie’s debut.   Maggie is going thru the puppy gawky stage right now and did nothing other than have fun…..however, our little Cleo surprised us all with a very big win!  She won Winners Bitch, Best of Winners and Best of Breed.  Quite an accomplishment for a 7 month old puppy and very exciting for all us.

Square_3Sunday was just as busy and fun in it’s own way.  My morning was spent finishing up my very very late square for the SHIPS afghan.  I chose a textured pattern from Barbara Walkers 2nd book, which seemed to work well with the wool/acrylic blend of yarn that was provided.  After finishing up with the square, I spent such an enjoyable afternoon at a local coffee shop with Teresa, looking at the lovely skeins of yarn she has spun on her Rhinebeck spindles and chatting up a storm.  Then home to watch the Pat’s very surprising and exciting win against the chargers.

And Lastly a Thank~you
Izzy to all of your thoughtful comments from my last post.  Last Thursday, I visited one last time with little Morgan and Izzy.  As you may have guessed,my little friend lost her battle with cancer late Thursday evening.  While I was filled with sadness, I was also thankful that she was freed from her battle.  Right up until the end, Morgan was a fighter.   Such a spirited young lady….that I am thankful to have had the pleasure of getting to know.  She will be missed~

  1. Morgan brought you so much through her spirit…you will always remember her.
I’m envious that you and Teresa had some time together! You are all just too far away and I wish we could hang together more often.
    Congrats to Chloe (and you!).

  7. You helped ease Morgan’s passing. Pets give us so much, and you were kind to share Izzy with her.
Thank you for the yarn – you are so generous! It looks so soft and squishy. 🙂
