Alternate between the solitary and the social.
Whether alone or with others, keep serenity.

I figured I would snap a picture of the snow that fell on us over night here in the mountains.  So exciting…..until the rain.  Winter oh winter, where art thou?

Knitting a big item doesn’t make for interesting pictures, but I am moving right along on my cable vest.  I love this pattern!  I hope to be finished with it this week.  Motivation comes in 2 forms.  Most importantly, I am looking forward  (and so is my family) to having a new vest to wear and secondly because I ordered some yarn for Anne’s Hypotenuse.  Of course if winter doesn’t arrive, I may not need it, but the pattern looks fascinating :-).

As I mentioned in my last post and as you can see here, I am making changes at The Woolen Rabbit.  Perhaps it is the Spring like weather, but the urge to unclutter my life is strong.  I will continue to play over the week with my blog until it feels like home (thank you for your suggestions) and on Friday morning, I will randomly choose a winner for a nice little gift.

Yesterday, it truly felt like an April day here, when I went up to the barn to clean cages.  In keeping with that uncluttering theme, I continued hoeing after cleaning the bunnies homes.

I have always struggled with letting go of fiber, even stuff I know I will never use.  I have always said…."well, I could always use it for felting or for this or that", but this time………heave ho……out it went, and it felt good!  I tossed out bag after bag of pure junk and ended up spending the entire day up just cleaning out the clutter.  I went into the house a much lighter person…..in spirit anyways 🙂

  1. I love that feeling, tossing big piles of stuff. It’s funny how hard it is to do most times, and how simple and freeing it is when you’re in the right mood.
Your snow is lovely. (None of it here. In Canada. In January.)

  3. I love the new banner! Who did you get it from, I’d love to have someone do one for me. I’m a computer illiterate.
Oh, and thanks for getting my wee little hopes up with a picture of snow. How’s the hiking up there?

  5. Love the new banner, esp. the font. It’s fun to tinker with the possibilities. I’m due for an updating but hesitate since I never was able to successfully upload buttons. Nice snow!

  7. I love the new blog header! Everything is looking great, good changes!
I wanted to get rid of some more stuff over the weekend too (last weekend was clothes, next up is the shoe closet and the bathroom closet) but the weather was so incredible that I couldn’t stay inside!

  9. Thank you for showing us pictures of snow, since we haven’t been able to experience it first hand this year. And bunny pictures, too! We have a bunny but, alas, I think her fur is too short to spin (at least for a spinner of my limited experience).
I love the look of your blog. I especially look forward to your pictures, both of nature and knitting.

  15. I’ve been in uncluttering mode lately as well. It does feel good to get rid of things that have outlived their usefulness, eh? Or to surround oneself with things that better represent who we are NOW.
