What is close at hand must first appear on the horizon.
What is cast upon us always has a source.

Today we took a different path on our Wednesday walk. I had errands to run in town, so I gathered up Cleo as my companion. It is good for puppies to experience new places and sounds…..and this would indeed be new for her.
Today’s trip was a walk around the Conway Scenic Railway. This morning it looked as though the day was going to be a complete washout again, but early in the afternoon, the sun broke thru the clouds for a little spell. Fortunately for me, it was when I needed to run some work errands, which brought me into town.

Cleo wasn’t quite sure what to make of the old railroad tracks and the towering old trains. After a few balks, she decided that maybe it was not really that scarey and maybe it might even be fun to be a bit adventurous. This railway, although very old has been restored and is home to the Polar Express that runs every year here at Christmas time. (and is incredibly awesome!)
As you can imagine, it is very quiet up here right now. The foliage season has past and the ski season has not yet begun, so we were free to explore to our hearts content.
We walked along the tracks for a spell and then poked our heads inside some of the resting trains. The workmanship that was put into these train cars all those years ago is nothing short of amazing………and the signs..
Signs, signs, everywhere there’s signs….
Cleo and I walked and walked and then walked some more. She was having a good time and I know that there will not be many more incredibly warm, breezy days left before the cold settles in.
I have read that there are bloggers who feel that a blog full of pictures does not carry the same weight as a blog full of words……….well, my Wednesdays will forever more be a blog full of pictures as I am enjoying my Wednesday walks. Taking the camera along with me has really made me take an extra look at my surroundings and in these past few weeks, I have gained such an extraordinary appreciation of those little things that my camera picks up. Kind of like stopping to smell the roses….so I won’t apologize for the abundance of photos 🙂
and Catching some "C’s"
When I said that the sun poked it’s head out for a little while……little was the operative word…LOL. Once home, the dark clouds had settled in again, so a hot cup of coffee, a few crackers and some scrumptiously soft cashmere, made for a cozy afternoon.
As a footnote, I want to thank you all so much for your kind comments on my little shawl. I was completely overwhelmed….Thank~You!!

So cool to see your photos of places I explored as a child and then with my own kids. Nice progress on the cashmere, are you enjoying the pattern?

I think photos are really important for every blog post so you keep puttting up all the photos you want. I liked this walk today, Kim, because I’ve been there!

I love “walking” with you on Wednesdays. And the pictures “put” me there beside you even more than words would. Since my heart yearns for your neck of the woods, I’ve been thrilled to “stumble” upon your blog and find that you “walk” and post pictures along the way. Thank you so much for a “jouney” that I would otherwise never be able to make. 🙂 BTW, your shawl is beautiful…wish I knew how to knit too. Luscious yarns beckon to me….

Really? Someone thinks words are better than pictures?
Not me. Love your pictures. And you manage to put just the right words with them to make it a delight to visit your blog and share in your experiences.
And, then there is always the good chance you will include a wonderful dog photo. . . love those the very best.

Hmmm, I’ve always preferred blogs that have more pics than words. I hardly subscribe to any that are mainly words. The pictures are the best part!!! 🙂

I enjoyed walking the Conway Scenic RR yard with you and Cleo through your blog. Although I work here every day it’s nice to see it through the eyes and camera of another person!
