Wish Upon A Star……Oct. 30, 2006

Pup_4

Meet the newest member of our family!   This little girl was the reason for my trip to Texas.    She is 5 months old and from some very nice champion lines in this country as well as in the UK.  I am very Maggiethelapdog
excited to have her here with us!  I am going to need a little of your help, however  Her registered name is Benchmark Wish Upon A Star, but she needs her everyday name.  I have thought about Cricket (of the Jiminy variety), but I’m not quite sure that it suits her yet, so I am open to suggestions πŸ™‚  Is she not cute??

Of course, she and Maggie are only a month apart in age and Maggie’s not completely sure she shouldn’t be the resident lap dog yet….LOL!

And A Little Knitting

Red_maple_lace_shawl Even though most of the weekend was very busy as we attended a fun match just outside of Dallas, I did manage to squeeze in a little knitting.  Most of it was on the plane ride to and from Texas.  Looks a bit different than when I left, eh?

As I was working on the other colorway, I realized it was very similar to another lace shawl that I had made last year, so I pulled it all out and restarted with something else.  Can you tell I like this color…haha?

Anyhoo, even though I had a very nice time this weekend and the weather was glorious, I am glad to be home.  The trip into Manchester, NH was incredibly scary last night……the plane was bouncing all over the place, like a bad sci~fi movie, and we were all amply frightened out of our wits by the time it landed….  It was good to put my feet on the ground again and sleep in my own bed πŸ™‚

  1. I think she could be a Cricket – or does she need something more diva-ish to match her blood lines? Can’t imagine having to land in yesterdays wind, glad you’re home safe.

  3. Gah! You were flying last night! Yeeeiiikes. Glad you’re home safe and sound.
I too like the name Star. Or maybe Tillie (short for the french word for star which is etoile — someone I know used it long ago).
Nice lacework. Looks like the Helen’s Lace I worked recently.

  5. I wanted to name my new puppy Stella incorporating the night time sky,but my family hated it so settled with Lily. The breeder chose one of the only 2 yellow female labs bumping us off the list and instead we now will be bringing home a 7 week old handsome black male on Saturday with a much nicer temperament than his sibs. We’re back to the drawing board for names. Got any good boy names?

  7. What a cutie! Cricket works for me.
I was thinking about planes this weekend…just that it must have been horrible turbulence. I can’t imagine why they don’t all blow out of the sky on days like that, but statistics were definitely on your side. I’m glad you are safe.

  9. Your new baby is beautiful! It’ll be so fun for your Maggie to have a ‘best buddy’ to grow up with, you’ll have so much joy watching their antics as they play. I love the name you chose, Cricket is perfect for such a happy little bundle of pup! Best of luck to your family as you all scootch over a bit to make room for Cricket in your life!

I hope you will come up with a great name for her. I’m sure her personality will help with that. πŸ˜€
