Peacock iridescence in veridical shadows,
Violet blooms spread to noonday sun.
The world’s beauty is a swirl of color,
But in the flower’s center is bright stillness

I think that I may have found a name for the newest batch of roving…….Morning Glory.
I spun up both samples quickly, to see if I preferred one to the other, but I am still not sure. The blended one is very muted, but not muddy, the other is much brighter….and maybe a wee bit too bright, so I am going to knit something up this weekend using both skeins to see which I prefer in the knitted item. As many know, I am so not a pink person (although a pink flower basket shawl is in my near future), however, I am thinking that I may toss a tetch of pink into this blend to waken it up a bit~

Birch and I have come to a happy ending!

Oh, Kim, Birch is beautiful! So glad things ended up ok between the two of you. 😉
I still can’t tell which of the rovings I like better…I’m definitely interested in seeing how they look when knitted up.

Interesting, very interesting. I’m personally liking the more blended roving, but seeing them knit will be even more telling.
Your birch is beautiful! I can’t believe you finished it in the heat of summer.

I don’t think I mentioned it before, but I like the separate colors. Good job on Birch. Hey, I just bought a new harness for one of my dogs last night and guess where it was made, Conway!

Hmmm, I can’t wait to see the knitted swatches. I’m inclined to agree that the blended is less jarring to the eye, but it may knit up beautifully. Perhaps a splash of purple instead of pink? It would blend into a beautiful lavendar which is found in many morning glories… 🙂 Thank you for sharing the 2 results! Birch is lovely!

I like them both. Not much help, am I?
But, while one could make an argument for either, I bet the left hand one will knit better. Gentler color variation.
I am 75% plied on the Blue Lagoon. Wow – not so much blue, more kind of sea foamy, (this is good) and absolutely beautiful.
You do nice work, lady.
