On The Knitting Front

Do you know
Where you are
On your jouney?

Normally I do not join knit-alongs because I am a notoriously slow and easily distracted knitter, however Joji Locatelli is doing a one skein Mystery Shawl for the month of November that had me jump in with both feet! She stressed that it would be easy to complete in the time frame given. I have also wanted to test knit one of the yarns that I have in stock right now, so a small and quick knit seems like the perfect fit!

You can find more information on Joji’s Ravelry page where you can purchase the pattern and join along if you would like. I won’t be showing many progress pictures as it is a mystery shawl and Joji has requested that we don’t post pictures that will give it away, but you might see this picture above show up here and there.

One of the problems with being an easily distracted knitter is the I often miss mistakes and then the project languishes for me to get back to it. While the pattern called for K2,P2 for the sleeve cuff like the the sleeve on the top, my brain kicked into a 1×1 cuff for the second one…oops.

I also took the time to correct the 1×1 knitting that I did at the bottom of the sweater and made it just a little bit longer. Once I finish the sleeve cuff I know that this sweater will get a lot of wear. Normally I can’t wear scratchy wool, but for some reason this Jamieson Shetland wool is actually comfortable and comforting to wear.
I have another sweater that I need to give a little love to as well so that I can wear it more often too. I’ll share more about that one in a future post.

Goodness it is such a blustery day here in New Hampshire!
