Is this baby not adorable? I fall in love each and every time I see their precious little faces. I keep threatening Ken that we will have Alpaca someday and he keeps saying…"Thank God for zoning laws"…..
Truly…where do the days go? Here it is already late Tuesday night and I am finally getting around to blogging about the fabulous albeit short time I had visiting with friends at the Fiber Revival in Newbury, Ma.
I was a good girl and bought very little, but I do love what I bought!
See that little glimpse of silver? Those are a pair of fabulous hammered silver earrings from Leslie Wind. Leslie is definitely one of those "givers" that I have mentioned in past blog posts. She is such a wonderfully supportive and giving lady who loves to teach her trade. I will be taking a trip down to visit her shop in the very near future :).
I also picked up some yummy bfl roving from Amy. Very different colors for me, other than that golden orange that just jumped out at me and said…."buy me"…how could I resist?
The last thing in this picture is called a knitandspin. I have to tell you, when I first caught a glimpse of this little wooden object, knitting tool is not what first ran thru my mind….yikes! After I spoke with the woman who was selling them, I had a brainstorm on how to use it. No………not that way…….sheesh! I will share more with you in a few days :).

It was wonderful to take a day off and spend it with friends. It is hard to believe that summer is almost coming to an end, isn't it?
Do you remember summer vacations when you were young? Sometimes July would seemed like it would never end…it would be summer always, but then that second week of August would roll around and all of a sudden you wanted to do all of the things that you had not yet done.
I feel like that little kid…..scurrying around like a chipmunk picking up my acorns. Summer IS coming to an end and the fall fairs are just around the corner…yikes! The dyepots will be fired up soon with new colors and my personal knitting will be laid aside for fair knitting. Will there be enough time?
Tonight the air is chilly and dry, but very very refreshing after the long, humid summer. As we toss open the windows to enjoy the coolness of the late August night it is not hard to believe that Autumn is just around the corner.
Leslie is a jewel, is she not?!! Her earrings suit you.
I’m so glad we had a chance to chat on Saturday!! 🙂

Let there be no mistake about it – fall is here! Tonight’s low is 47 here, and on the road to our house, many trees just started turning their leaves today! And we live in the lower 48, albeit farther north than some Canadians!

What an exciting weekend you had! I’m definitely envious; we just don’t seem to have that kind of thing up here. I feel exactly the same way as you do, trying to finish up at least some of the projects I foresaw myself doing this summer. Good luck on your end-of-summer projects!

Kim- Yippee! Fall is my favorite time, and I adore winter.
Couldn’t you just sneak in one little Alpaca? Don’t you love their long eyelashes?

I can’t figure out what the knitandspin is for. Looks like a giant wooden tack.

I’m wondering if the knit and spin would deter my cat, or peak his interest…

Spending time with friends makes the days fly by quickly! We saw a glimpse, just a glimpse of autumn in the mountains yesterday. Hopefully it will be long and beautiful.

Very curious about the knitandspin. It has a spindle-y look to it, but what about the “knit” part? You’ll have to update us on this one so we can find out how it works!

I have a fenced in yard. I’m sure I could fit an alpaca in there. Or maybe a sheep 🙂
Good to see you this weekend!

Knitting tool eh? Too bad Carole wasn’t there- I can hear her after clapping eyes on it. “What the Hull?” followed by gales of laughter!
Will you be modeling the earrings for those of us who missed being there?

Summer may be ending, but that brings sweater weather and a chance to use the shawls and socks I’ve been knitting. Love the baby alpaca!
