"Don’t it always seem to go
That you don’t know what you’ve got
Till its gone…
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot…ummm baa baa bap"…….

There hasn’t been much spinning happening at the Woolen Rabbit this winter. Time has been spent either at the dye pot or knitting and my wheels have been pouting in their corners, until this week.
I received my order from CMF the other day and the colors just begged to be spun. Yellow as bright as daffodils that have yet to poke their noses thru the soil here in the Mountains.
I have never spun superwash merino until now and I have to say that I am thoroughly enjoying it, even if the texture is very different. Spinning it with a bit more twist than I normally would, as I get the feeling that this will bloom alot once it is wet. I’m hoping that I am getting the right amount of twist to keep the pills away, but still soft enough that it will be comfy on the feet…..we will see.

Teyani emailed me this week after I mentioned how much I love the names on her rovings and yarn. She thought I could probably guess she was an aging hippie….LOL. Well grrl….I am right there with you….LOL!
The funny thing is, my middle daughter who is graduating from college this year has discovered the music of the 60’s and early 70’s during her college experience. As evidenced in this picture, you can see what a huge fan she is of Bob Dylan who also at one time sang Big Yellow Taxi.
Music has always been such a huge part of my life. I can hear a song and almost pinpoint where I was in my life when I heard it….I bet alot of you can too. One of the very first blog contests I entered was Vicky’s music questions from 1976. That was the year I graduated from High School, so I had a blast going down memory lane with her. This was the first and almost only contest I have ever won….haha!
Anyhoo………I LOVE the names and I LOVE the roving! It feels good to be spinning again!
Leaving On A Jet Plane..
Speaking of music….
Cleo and I are heading out early tomorrow for a dog show in Atlanta….
For any of you wondering which picture won out for my ad….here is the picture that we went with :-). As much as I loved the other picture, her breeder loved this one more. I figured I should probably go with her choice as she has always done a fantastic job on this yearbook…..and heck, what do I know….LOL!
I hope you all have a GREAT weekend!
Gorgeous!!!! Best of luck at the show!

Hahaha, I think that was MY first (and best) contest and it was a blast. I should do it again. ; ) My eldest had a big Janis Joplin poster on her bedroom door, and Bob Dylan on the wall when she was still in high school and Maddy, my baby, has a Beatles song for her ringtone. It makes me smile every time I hear her phone ring. The good stuff never gets old.

Hey! That is the pic that I liked. That is one adorable puppy!
Ack! I can’t wait for my wheel to get here! Hopefully UPS isn’t teasing when they say tomorrow.
Your daughter is beautiful. I love when the girls discover “my” music. Like it is all new or something. Gillian is a real disco freak right now. She is a 70s throw back if there ever was one. The other girls lean more to rock. It’s fun.

good luck and have fun at the show – that photo is wonderful.
How great that your daughter enjoys “our” music (big grin)
Your Big Yellow Taxi looks wonderful! Don’t be afraid to give it quite a good twist. I normally spin mine, then let it sit a bit (like a few days to a week) then ply the heck out of it. This superwash just luvs to bloom big in its bath 🙂

Oh Good luck Cleo. Please take bunches of blog photos of KCC. I really am going to need your help someday for 2 pups at once. Or if you hear of a KCC that really needs a home: ie deaf or blind or minus anything, I’ll take it. My great golden ret. breeder once had a pup without a usuable leg from amniotic band syndrome and we found her a great home.

What fun colors – very springy and as usual, your spinning looks lovely and even. I’ll bet you love the finished yarn.

Teyani’s stuff is becoming as good (bad?) as bunnycrack. It is so much fun to spin. I got Ol Blue Eyes in pencil roving and I LOVE it.
Good luck to Cleo girl. Have fun, both of you!
The music burrowed into my head in those years, and it was so important. That’s probably why it’s still up there now.

I just found your site via Wool Windings. I cracked up when I read about your daughter discovering the music from our era. I have two grown sons who love that music. I have been listening to theirs and they listen to mine. We are comparing groups and talking about them all the time. My youngest son cracks up when he thinks about me listening to The Gorillas music.
The roving is really nice. I haven’t done spinning in a while but seeing all that roving sure makes me want to. Now I just have to dust off the wheel and make myself do it.
